Senator Rob McColley (R-Napoleon) announced nearly $4 million in disaster recovery funds will be provided to two counties hit hard by the powerful March tornado.
Logan County will receive $3.7 million and Auglaize County will receive $187,500 for debris removal, safety and security operations, damage repair to both municipal electrical systems, and municipal buildings.
“These additional resources will make a critical difference for more than 3,000 Ohioans living in the Indian Lake community and Auglaize County,” said Senator McColley. “The people and businesses that have been tragically affected need our support.”
The National Weather Service reported on March 14th an EF3 tornado was on the ground for more than 45 minutes. It started in Auglaize County and ended in Logan County, with wind speeds reaching 155 mph, taking the lives of three people and injuring 27.
The Ohio Controlling Board approved the funds under the State Disaster Relief Program (SDRP.) The funds will be monitored by the Emergency Management Agency and the Office of Budget and Management.
