Paulding High School’s Personal Growth and Positive Mindset class had a busy week. The students, who had been acting as mentors to elementary school students throughout the year, hosted their final mentoring session where they celebrated their mentees with donuts, juice, a game, and certificates.

A few of the students also went on a field trip to Van Wert’s Niswonger Performing Arts Center to see NBA basketball player Chris Herren’s talk about his journey from addiction to recovery. It was a very eye-opening experience.

And finally the students finished up the last of their leadership projects by celebrating their final Lunch Chat for the year. A group of students started a program called Lunch Chats as a way to help build community in the school. They celebrated their final Lunch Chat by throwing a pizza party for those in attendance. The pizza party was made possible thanks to a grant that they received from United Way of Paulding County.
