ANTWERP, OH:
Pamela Friend, 68, of Antwerp, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
Pam was born in Paulding, on June 12, 1955, a daughter of the late Vellina (Page) & William Doster.
Pam started her career at BOS Computer Programming and later became a manager at Schaefer Hardware. Her love for the Girl Scouts, fostered in her youth, continued as she became a devoted Girl Scout leader. Pam also served as the president of the Hicksville Horseman’s Association, where she combined her leadership skills with her love for horses. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and baking, making wonderful pies and desserts, and crafting Care Bears that she sold by the dozens. Pam’s love for animals was evident in the way she cared for her dogs, fed and talked to the squirrels in her backyard, and maintained her koi pond. She cherished nature and found joy in feeding and interacting with wildlife. Above all, Pam fiercely loved her family, who always held the most important place in her heart.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, William; children, Nicole (Brandon) Bell, Joseph (Amanda) Friend, Jason (Bethany) Friend; daughter-in-law, Peggy Friend; siblings, Deborah (Sam) Friend, Sandy (Brian) Swann, Crisann (the late John) Phipps, Linda (Gerald) Barnes, & Bill Doster; 11 grandchildren; & 5 great grandchildren.
Pam was also preceded in death by her son, Steven Friend & grandson, Ryan Hatlevig.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 4th at 10:30 AM at Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp.
Memorials are to the CHP Inpatient hospice, Defiance or Holly Kobee Memorial ACDC.
