The 42nd Ohio Sprint Week for the Fast on Dirt, 410 Winged Outlaw Sprints, is winding down. Cap Henry currently leads the current point standings with 1294 and right behind him is Cale Thomas with 1247. Rounding out the top 5, Greg Wilson, Danny Sams III, and Travis Philo.
Ohio Sprint week started at Attica Raceway Park in Tiffin. Night #1 went to Cap Henry. Cap didn’t do well in qualifying, but in the feature, he was able to defend his home track. Henry sliced through lapped traffic to build a nearly six second lead until a caution flew with just two laps to go another caution just after the white flag gave Greg Wilson a shot at Henry, but he was just too strong and drove to his 18th career Attica win over Wilson, Axsom, Craig Mintz and Zeth Sabo.
The following night the series went to Fremont Speedway to take on (the track that action built). After qualifying and the heat races were finished, mother nature ended the night with heavy rains. Cale Thomas took the Sunday win at Waynesfield Raceway. The track was in great shape and the drivers could run low or up on the cushion. Monday, June 10th, the race teams were at Wayne County Speedway, in Orrville. The win went to Jordan Ryan. He grew up attending races during Ohio Sprint Speedweek and eventually got to participate in a few. Now the 27-year-old from Bellevue, Ohio can call himself an Ohio Sprint Speedweek winner. He led all 30 laps of the feature. Danny Sams III of North Port, Fla., utilized the VERY top side of Hilltop Speedway Tuesday, June 11, to earn the biggest sprint car win in his young career. Australian Brock Hallett led the first 13 laps of the 30-lap feature before a spirited battle began involving Hallett, Greg Wilson and third starter Sams. Greg Wilson drove the bottom line to steal the lead from Brock Hallett on lap 14, only to see Sams blast by to regain the top spot a lap later. Sams flirted with disaster lap after lap, inches from the guardrail and drove to his first victory of Ohio Sprint Speedweek. Wednesday action continued at Sharon Speedway in Hartford Ohio, located on the OH/PA Stateline. Danny Dietrich was off to a rough start in the series. He missed the feature the first two nights, came a very close second the third, crashed the fourth night, took the fifth night to regroup, and came back strong Wednesday at Sharon Speedway, leading all 30 caution-free laps for the $5,000 victory. It will be interesting to see what driver will win the 42nd Annual Ohio Sprint Week. Stay tuned and find out here next week or for daily updates visit Ohio Sports Blitz on Facebook.

He took home $100,030,00 for the win and a lucky fan won the 50/50 and received $55,578.00. Last Friday at Attica, Rusty Schlenk picked up his 4th feature win at the track this season.
