It’s a jungle out there! You’ll need all your senses to survive! You’ll learn how at Vacation Bible School at the Antwerp Global Methodist Church this year.
Listen! Can you hear a howler monkey screeching and insects buzzing? Look! Do you see a sloth hanging from a tree and a jaguar crouching ready to pounce? Smell! Is that the aroma of tropical flowers wafting through the air? Touch! Do you feel soft grass under your feet and gentle rain on your skin? Taste! Is that delicious coconut milk and exotic spices from the rainforest?
The staff at Antwerp GMC on East River Street is prepar- ing for this year’s big event. The theme is The Great Jungle Journey. Don’t worry. The children will be safe on the ship as they travel through jungle rivers and learn at each of the seven ports-of-call along the way. The seven port names each begin with a “C” representing the seven key biblical events in time.
On day 1 we will learn about Creation. On day 2 the lesson will be Corruption and Catastrophe. On day 3 we will study about Confusion. Day 4 the lesson focus will be Christ and the Cross. On the final day, Friday, the lesson will be on Consummation.
Students will be energized with lively songs, mission moments and prayer. They will also travel in groups to Exploration Stations, Lesson Time, snacks, games and crafts. Along the river cruise there will be unexpected rainforest adventures.
All of this excitement will happen beginning Monday, July 15 through Friday July 19 from 6:00 until 8:30 each evening. Children pre-school and potty trained through sixth grade are welcome and my pre-register by visiting the church website: https://www. antwerpmethodistchurch.org/ v-b-s .
