Parkview Health was recently selected as the No. 3 nonprofit organization and No. 18 overall on the 2024 North American Inspiring Workplaces Top 100 list.

It’s the first time Parkview has been recognized by the international Inspiring Workplaces Group (IW), which recognizes and helps shape the forward-thinking organizations that put their people first.

Parkview ranked within the top quintile on the 2024 list of companies and was selected as the No. 3 best nonprofit organization. Parkview was also honored as one of seven organizations recognized for superior effort in inspiring wellbeing among its workforce.

“Parkview’s culture is inspiring, and it’s because of the dedication and hard work of our more than 16,000 co-workers,” said Dena Jacquay, chief administrative officer, Parkview Health. “Parkview invests in our co-workers to inspire their professional growth, support their physical and mental wellbeing and recognize their tremendous value to providing excellent care experiences for those we serve. We continue to ask for and listen to feedback directly from our co-workers as we strive to make Parkview a workplace that makes our teams proud.”

To ensure that the best-performing organizations were identified, Inspiring Workplaces upgraded the judging criteria for the 2024 awards. Unlike other awards, which rely on surveys, entrants to the Inspiring Workplace Awards were asked to provide proof of their investment in people by completing the entry form consisting of the six key elements IW believes are fundamental to creating a People First culture, and by extension an Inspiring Workplace. Those categories are culture and purpose, leadership, wellbeing, inclusion, employee voice and employee experience.

“Parkview Health’s submission effectively showcases the organization’s unwavering dedication to creating an exceptional employee experience characterized by comprehensive support, responsive leadership, a strong sense of belonging, and a genuine commitment to co-worker well-being,” Inspiring Workplaces judges wrote. “The alignment between the company’s purpose and its people practices, coupled with impressive measurable outcomes, sets Parkview apart as an inspiring workplace that truly values and invests in its people.”

Parkview was joined on this year’s Top 100 list by national companies including SurveyMonkey, Union Pacific Railroad, PepsiCo Beverages North America and fellow Fort Wayne-based Sweetwater. Parkview is now being considered for the Inspiring Workplaces global Top 100 list, which selects top workplaces among seven international regions.

Inspiring Workplaces is the latest in a series of workplace accolades Parkview Health has received within the last year. Parkview was recognized as a Most Loved Workplace by both the Best Practices Institute and Newsweek in 2023 and was also named a Best-in-State Employer by Forbes. So far in 2024, Parkview was recognized as one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s Top Places to Work in Healthcare, named as a finalist in the Greater Fort Wayne Business Excellence Awards, and had three hospitals selected to the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s Best Places to Work list.
