ANTWERP, OH:
David “Randy” Derck, 83, of Antwerp, Ohio passed away Friday, July 19, 2024 at Vancrest of Hicksville.
Randy was born in Antwerp on March 27, 1941, a son of the late Imogene (Perkins) and Herbert C Derck.
Some may say that Randy was Antwerp’s most community minded leader. He was responsible for attracting and retaining many businesses to Antwerp. Randy and his family owned and operated Antwerp Insurance Agency. He was a member of Antwerp Rotary, Chamber of Commerce and Community Improvement Corporation. Above all, he loved his family. Randy thoroughly enjoyed family and holiday events, especially snowmobiling at their cabin in Michigan,
Randy will be sadly missed by his wife, Sue (Zuber); children, Timothy (Lisa) Derck, Lisa (Phil) Heckelman and Jennifer (Charles) Saul; siblings, Anthony Derck and Joan Rager; grandchildren, Amanda DeWood, Jeffrey and Tom Derck, Emily Gerschutz and Chloe & Emma Saul and 8 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Andrew David Derck; brother, Terry Derck; sisters-in-law Mary Derck and Mary Derck.
Viewing is Thursday, July 25th, 3 – 7 PM, with the rosary recited at 7 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.
Randy’s funeral mass is Friday, July 26th at 10 AM at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 203 W. Townline Street, Payne, Ohio. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH AFTER 9:45 AM)
He will be laid to rest in Maumee Cemetery Antwerp.
