“A Place to Land are two of the most wonderful, gracious, and talented people and entertainers I’ve met. They’ve played several times at my restaurant, and we always look forward to the next time we see them. They expertly cover songs from an increasingly disappearing generation and culture of music, and it’s just so comforting to see two people keep it alive with such passion. Highly recommend for any event.”

Brian and Rebecca are a musical duo who play a unique combination of songs that can be described as a hopeful vision of the future with an eye on the past. They are based in the woods of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and often perform on the deck of the Brewery, entertaining thousands of visitors who travel to Tahquamenon Falls every year.
Here’s a quote from Josh Winkler, The INN, Paradise, MI about their performances: “A Place to Land are two of the most wonderful, gracious, and talented people and entertainers I’ve met. They’ve played several times at my restaurant, and we always look forward to the next time we see them. They expertly cover songs from an increasingly disappearing generation and culture of music, and it’s just so comforting to see two people keep it alive with such passion. Highly recommend for any event.”
In addition to their performances at the Marquette Farmers Market, they can also be seen at the Goatlocker Saloon, Upper Hand Brewery, Lake Superior Brewery, By George Brewery, and Cove Bar. They play traditional acoustic instruments and blend the poetic words of John Prine with the classic songs of the Carter family. Their repertoire also includes folk songs from Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie, as well as songs from Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard.
During the winter, they are busy with the H.O.M.E Place (History of Music Program) sharing their love of music at schools and senior centers.
The H.O.M.E. PLACE experience lasts for one hour and is divided into three sections.
The first section consists of a 15-minute performance featuring a mix of current and historical Folk, Country, Bluegrass, and Americana songs that showcase the various genres of music using acoustic instruments.
The second section allows the audience to participate for 30 minutes by playing one of the many acoustic instruments provided by H.O.M.E. PLACE. These instruments include guitars, mandolin, banjo, violin, cigar box guitars, cajon, maracas, shakers, and bones.
In the final section, the audience can quietly examine the instruments and engage in conversations with the musicians about their experiences.
