Raiders place first in invite

The Wayne Trace boys golf team won the Wayne Trace Boys Golf Invitational Thursday evening at Pleasant Valley Golf Course. The Raiders shot a 149 to get past second place Miller City’s 155. Sophomore Brody Rosswurm totaled a 35 to capture medalist honors and lead the Wayne Trace Raiders to the championship of the Wayne Trace Boys Golf Invitational Thursday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course outside of Payne.

The Raiders finished with a team score of 149 to defeat second place Miller City’s 155 with Lincolnview (172) and Crestview (175) finishing third and fourth, respectively. Ottoville took fifth at 179 followed by Paulding (180), Fort Jennings (182) and Antwerp (183).

Kyle Sutton and Connor Davis also had scores of 36 for the Raiders with Konnor Wannemacher wrapping up the red, white and blue scorers with a 42. Jared Varner added a 45 for Wayne Trace and Tyson Gerber chipped in a 46.

Miller City picked up a 38 each from Will Otto and Jesse Lammers with Andrew Weis carding a 39. Jude Otto totaled a 40 while Gavin Vennekotter and Brayden Niese posted a 44 apiece.

Lincolnview was paced by Holden Price at a 39 followed by Bennett Kill (44), Seth Brant (44), Bosten Bailey (45), Chayse Overholt (46) and Lucas Grubb (52).

Crestview golfers included Logan Schlemmer (42), Mathew Dealey (43), Ayden Hyitt (44), Keenan Smith (46), Evan Hart (53) and Jacob Schumm (56).

Evan Altenburger paced Ottoville with a 41 and Blake Kortokrax posted a 43. Zach Hohlbein (47), J.J. Hoersten (48) and Logan Rittenhouse (51) also scored for the Big Green.

For Paulding, Brandon Schroeder and Johnny Lipps each carded a 44 and Nick Hatcher chipped in a 45. Nico Stahl (47), Tyler Goyings (48) and Max Stork (48) completed the Panther list of players.

Ryan Aldrich and Dylan Tumlinson topped Fort Jennings with a 44 apiece while Braden Knippen and Adam Hoersten both shot a 47 for the Musketeers. Garrett Hark (61) and Kamren Browning (67) were the other orange and black players.

Antwerp golfers included Braylen Moreno (38), Griffin Kosch (47), Draven Baumert (48), Dylan Hahn (50), Zaine McMichael (52) and Drew Eaken (53).
