Bombers cruise to win over Archers

Visiting Edon took control in the first quarter and cruised to a 55-6 win over host Antwerp Friday in non-league football action at Archer Field.

Edon scored 28 points in the first quarter and put the game away with 20 more in the second as the Bombers posted a 48-0 halftime advantage.

The Williams County squad scored its final points in the third quarter while the Archers recorded their lone points in the fourth quarter.

Ethan Thomas-Van Kirk ran for 84 yards to lead the Archer offense while Hampton Rogge completed three of four passes for 47 yards. Dayne Sholl, Zac Salas, Brayden Fuller, Tavin Sholl and Jaxon Jones all had receptions for the blue and white.

Edon recorded 11 first downs in the contest compared to six for Antwerp, with the Bombers racking up 307 total yards of offense with the Archers posting 82.

Four players picked up double digits in tackles for the Archers, led by 17 from Michael Rohrs along with 13 each by Jaxon Jones and Zac Salas. Kane Hines also finished with 11 stops for Antwerp.

Derek Hines also had three tackles for a loss for the blue and white while Kayden Winslow, Rohrs, Thomas-Van Kirk, Jones and Keegan Gray-Wycoff all picked up one.

Winslow finished with a pair of interceptions in the contest as well for Antwerp.
