PAYNE, OH:
Michael A. Winans, age 72, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN.
Michael was born on October 5, 1952 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Allen W. and Jean C. (Miller) Winans. On February 9, 1973, he married Jeanne Meeks, who survives. Earlier in his career, Michael was a self employed farmer and then was the owner/operator of Anchor Propane. He was a member of the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge and the Wayne Trace Athletic Boosters. Michael served as President of the Paulding County Hospital Board, where he was currently serving his second term. He enjoyed following his grandchildren’s many activities. He was an avid Richard Petty, Ohio State Buckeyes, Wayne Trace Raiders, and Snider Panthers fan. He loved spending time at Big Turkey Lake.
Along with his loving wife, Jeanne, Michael is survived by his children: Benjamin (Natalie) Winans, Payne, OH; Amanda (Caleb) Conley, Fort Wayne, IN; sisters: Susan (Jay) Castleman, Fort Wayne, IN; Sara Winans, Payne, OH; four grandchildren: Cale Winans, Boston Conley, Caroline Winans, and Careen Winans.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Den Herder Funeral Home with Pastor Bud Larimore officiating. Burial will follow in Lehman Cemetery, Benton Township, OH.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Den Herder Funeral Home. There will also be visitation from 10:00 A.M. until time of services on Thursday.
