On National Manufacturing Day, Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH5) released the following statement highlighting the crucial role manufacturing plays in Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District and across the country:
“Ohio’s Fifth District is home to more than 1,000 manufacturers that support 86,000 manufacturing jobs — the most in the state of Ohio. In ‘The Heart of It All’, we produce countless goods that are shipped across the country and world. This is made possible by the hard-working men and women who make up this industry and are truly the backbone of our economy in Northern Ohio and across the state. On National Manufacturing Day, please join me in recognizing and thanking them for their tireless efforts, hard work, and ingenuity.
“And when I’m meeting with our manufacturers, I hear the same sentiment over and over: we need affordable, reliable energy to stay competitive. As a senior member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, I’ve been working to invest in U.S. energy production to ensure we have the baseload energy capacity to power our manufacturers and keep the Buckeye State’s economy running.
“As the Representative for Ohio’s Fifth District in Congress, I’ll continue championing policies that allow our businesses and manufacturers to thrive. Again, to the hard-working men and women who make up our manufacturing industries: Thank you for all you do!”
