Trooper Huffman named Bowling Green Post Trooper of the Year

Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Jeffery J. Huffman has been selected as the 2024 Trooper of the Year at the Bowling Green Post.

The selection of Trooper Huffman, 34, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2024 at the Bowling Green Post. Fellow officers stationed at the Bowling Green Post chose Trooper Huffman based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.

Trooper Huffman is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Award to be announced at a later date.

Trooper Huffman joined the Patrol in October 2016 as a member of the 161st Academy Class. He earned his commission in March of the following year and has been assigned to the Bowling Green Post throughout his career,where he has been Post Trooper of the Year twice. He earned the Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement four times and the Criminal Patrol Award six times. Additionally, he has earned the Colonel Paul A. Pride State Criminal Patrol Award twice.

Trooper Huffman earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Bowling Green State University in 2014. He is originally from Fostoria and a graduate of Arcadia High School.

Dispatcher Clabaugh named Dispatcher of the Year at the Patrol’s Bowling Green Dispatch Center Ohio State Highway Patrol Dispatcher Sara M. Clabaugh has been selected as the 2024 Dispatcher of the Year at the Bowling Green Dispatch Center.  

The selection of Dispatcher Clabaugh, 26, is in recognition of outstanding service over the past year at the Bowling Green Dispatch Center. Sworn officers and dispatchers chose Clabaugh based on technical job knowledge and ability, enthusiastic work attitude, teamwork, and prompt and courteous response to the public’s request for information and assistance.

Dispatcher Clabaugh is now in contention for the District and State Dispatcher of the Year Award to be announced at a later date.

Dispatcher Clabaugh joined the Patrol in 2022 and has served at the Bowling Green Dispatch Center throughout her career. She was nominated for the Ohio Public Safety Telecommunications Gold Star Award in 2023.

Dispatcher Clabaugh earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of Arizona in 2023. She is originally from Piqua and a graduate of Otsego High School. She resides in Henry County with her husband and children.

Trooper Martin named Toledo Post Trooper of the Year

Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Camron J. Martin has been selected as the 2024 Trooper of the Year at the Toledo Post.

The selection of Trooper Martin, 23, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2024 at the Toledo Post. Fellow officers and dispatchers for the Toledo Post chose Trooper Martin based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public.

Trooper Martin is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Award to be announced at a later date.

Trooper Martin joined the Highway Patrol in 2022 as a member of the 170th Academy Class. He earned his commission in February of the following year and has been assigned to the Toledo Post since. Trooper Martin is originally from Toledo, and is a graduate of Clay High School in Oregon. In addition to this year’s Trooper of the Year recognition, he has also earned the Ohio State Highway Patrol Criminal Patrol Award in 2024.

Trooper Martin and his family reside in Lucas County.
