The Western Buckeye Educational Service Center participates in the Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award’s Program that was established by the Ohio Superintendent’s Educational Service Center Association to promote student achievement and recognize outstanding students. Eligible students for this award must demonstrate outstanding academic achievements as indicated by high school test scores along with success both in and out of the classroom.
Locally, each high school in Paulding and Van Wert counties nominates a student to represent their district. From the district nominations, a county winner is chosen. Each county winner is awarded a $500 scholarship and the other two students from each county school district are given a $100 scholarship.
The Western Buckeye ESC (WBESC) will host a recognition program for this scholarship in March. The WBESC would like to thank the John Paulding VFW Post #587 who recently donated $500 toward this year’s scholarship program.
