Quarters on Us: A Family Venture Into Nostalgia and Fun

Since February 2024, Titus Garmater and his father Josh have embarked on an exciting entrepreneurial journey, transforming 102 Cleveland Street, Antwerp, into an arcade, Quarters on Us. This new business is more than just a venture; it’s a tribute to the family’s love for classic arcade games and shared family experiences.

The idea was born out of many family gatherings around old-style arcade machines. “Our family has always loved just the old-style arcade and something we love to do as a family,” said Titus. This shared passion led them to create a space where other families and children could come together, especially over the weekends, to relive some of that timeless arcade magic.

Quarters on Us offers a unique twist on the arcade experience. Instead of the traditional coin-operated games, customers can pay a one-time entry fee, receive a bracelet or stamp, and enjoy unlimited play for the entire day. This setup not only makes it more family-friendly but also allows guests to leave for meals or other errands and return without paying again.

The Garmaters have put considerable effort into curating a diverse collection of arcade machines, ranging from the 1970s to early 2000s. This selection reflects their decision to focus on nostalgia over newer arcade styles, aiming to bring back the charm and challenge of the original arcade experience.

Transforming the former Antwerp laundromat into a vibrant arcade was no small feat. The family had to remove old plumbing, tear out huge windows, and undertake significant renovations, including laying new carpet and setting up the gaming machines. Local businesses and artists like West Bend Printing and Shayla Thomas, who painted a mural on the building, supported these efforts, weaving Quarters on Us into the community fabric.

Quarters on Us is not the Garmater family’s first foray into local business. Titus’s mother, Dana, and sisters, Leah and Rachel, run More Than Boutique, further highlighting the family’s deep ties to the community. “We want people to know that Quarters on Us is here for the community,” Titus emphasized, reflecting their desire to offer a welcoming space for all ages and income levels.

The arcade opened on January 2nd, 2025, operating four days a week with extended hours on weekends to cater to the community’s needs. To stay updated or learn more, the Garmaters encourage potential visitors to follow Quarters on Us on Facebook.

The anticipation and excitement within the Antwerp community and surrounding area is a promising prospect that a new local hotspot for fun, games, and family time has arrived … all thanks to the Garmater family’s vision and dedication.
