Wayne Trace Wrestling at Troy Invitational

On January 4, 2025, the Wayne Trace Wrestling Team competed in the Troy Invitational in Troy, Ohio. 

The Raider Wrestlers were represented by eight wrestlers, two of which ended the day on the podium. In the 113-pound weight class, Colton Kimmel ended the day in fourth place after taking a medical forfeit in the finals. 

The sophomore ended the day with a 3-2 record after pinning his first opponent in 1:24, pinning the second opponent in 1:18, and defeating the third opponent by means of a tech fall with a final score of 20-3. In the 126-pound weight class, Corbin Kimmel competed through the day with a record of 3-1, ending as the runner-up of the weight class.

The senior wrestler defeated his first opponent with a tech fall score of 19-4, pinned his next opponent in 2:33, and breezed through the semi-finals with a pin in 1:31. Dyson Scott, the senior 215-pound wrestler finished his day with a record of 2-2. Scott pinned his first opponent in just 1:22, followed by another pin in 4:28. Other wrestlers contributing to team points include Dylan Hershberger, Dakota Densmore, and Blake Schultz who all ended the day with a record of 1-2.
