Antwerp Police Reports

On January 7, a resident of Fort Wayne reported a possible stolen vehicle at a residence in Antwerp. Officers determined that it was a civil matter and assisted the individual in retrieving the vehicle.

On January 8, Antwerp Schools contacted the police department regarding alleged threats made by an individual on Facebook. An investigation was conducted, and a report was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

On January 9, a possible fight was reported at Riverbend Mobile Home Park. Officers responded, investigated the incident, and filed charges against a suspect. On the same day, a motor vehicle accident occurred on Main Street near Wilcox. Officers responded, conducted an investigation, and issued a citation to the responsible driver. The police department also received a report from a county resident alleging that her son had been assaulted at school. The case was investigated and referred to the prosecutor.

On January 11, the Antwerp Police Department assisted EMS on a squad run.

On January 15, a resident reported that her ex-boyfriend had broken her window, jumped into her car, and attempted to choke her. A report was prepared, and an arrest warrant was issued.

On January 16, an employee of the Pop & Brew gas station reported a suspicious person inside the business. The individual explained that he had been dropped off and was looking for a job. Also on this day, a resident of Frank Leinard Parkway reported a possible domestic dispute. Officers responded, investigated, and filed charges. Another call came in on a disabled vehicle was reported on Stone Street, and officers located the vehicle, which was safely off the road with its hazard lights on and awaiting assistance. Additionally, a school employee reported receiving a threatening phone call. The case is currently under investigation and will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

On January 17, a domestic dispute was reported at Frank Leinard’s Mobile Home Park. Officers responded, prepared a report, and filed charges. That same day, the police department assisted the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office in attempting to execute an arrest warrant at a residence on Daggett Street.

On January 18, a resident on North Main contacted the police, claiming that a former friend he had evicted was now hiding between a wall in the kitchen and window in the basement. The officer assured him that no one was inside the wall. 

On January 19, a domestic dispute was reported on Cleveland Street. The officer responded, investigated, and prepared a report.

On January 20, a resident of Bryan contacted the police about her vehicle, which had broken down at the Pop & Brew gas station. An officer and an employee assisted in moving the vehicle away from the pumps, and it was removed the following day. Additionally, the police department received a protection order from a resident of Frank Lenard Parkway.

On January 21, a county resident contacted the police regarding a trailer she believed was located at a residence in Antwerp. She requested assistance in retrieving it.

On January 23, a resident of Defiance reported that she was being harassed by someone living in Antwerp. The case was referred to Defiance County authorities.

On January 25, a possible fight was reported at Riverbend Mobile Home Park on the east side of town. When officers arrived, they found a family of intoxicated individuals arguing. The individuals were warned for disorderly conduct and instructed to quiet down.

On January 28, the police department received a complaint about loud noise from either four-wheelers or snowmobiles operating near Stone Street. An officer spoke with the residents and explained that the village has an ordinance prohibiting their use after dark.
