Ashton Winger will race full time in 2025 with the World of Outlaw Late Models

It’s great to be back after taking six weeks off. If you haven’t heard, I was blessed to get my much needed kidney transplant. It’s still early but things are looking positive. I thank everyone that extended prayers and well-wishes. All are much appreciated.

While I was out the 39th annual Chili Bowl for Midget race cars took place at the Tulsa SageNet Expo Center and Kyle Larson won his 3rd Golden Driller trophy. 392 drivers ran elimination features all week trying to get into the final feature of 24 drivers. Kyle Larson won back to back championships at the bowl in 2020 and 2021 before getting this year’s victory. Sammy Swindell has won the event 5 times, Kevin Swindell 4 wins, Christopher Bell 3 and several 2 time winners. Finishing behind Kyle Larson this year was 2nd. Daison Pursley, 3rd. Shane Golobic 4th. Ryan Bernal, 5th. Landon Brooks. Tickets for the 40th annual Chili Bowl go on sale March 5th, 2025. The dates of next year’s Chili Bowl will be January 12th-17th, 2026.

The World of Outlaw Late Models opened 2025 at Golden Isles Speedway in Waynesville, GA 1/17/25. Tyler Bruening of Decorah, IA started on the pole and never looked back. He took the checker in the first feature of the new year. Jonathan Davenport was second, Brandon Overton third, and Ohio driver Devin Moran finished fourth. 

Great Lakes Super Sprints opening night at Limaland Motorsports Park

I’m happy to see Georgia driver Ashton Winger announced he will return to the Outlaws and run a full schedule in 2026. Some of you that attend Oakshade Raceway will remember him getting wins every July with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Tour that comes through the area.

Currently the World of Outlaw Late Models and Sprints are in Florida with the USAC Sprints, UMP Modifieds and other types of cars for big money races the next few weeks and busy getting their cars dialed in and set up. These races can be watched for free on youtube.com.

Area racetracks are now posting their 2025 schedules. Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon will open Saturday, April 26th featuring Sportsmen, Dominator Stocks and Sport Compacts. The following week the DIRTcar Late Models will be added to the weekly racing events.  Sprint car fans the Kubota High Limit Sprint Car Series will be a Fremont Speedway on Wednesday, May 14th. Limaland Motorsports Park opens May 2nd and will feature Great Lakes Super Sprints, UMP Modifieds and Thunder Stocks on opening night. During the season they will also feature USAC D2 Midgets, DTTS Trucks, BOSS/GLTS wingless sprints and Iron Man American Late Model Series stops on June 27th. Attica Raceway Park will have 24 events in 2025. Friday, March 14th will be the opening night. This will be the tracks 38th season and $850,000.00 to be paid out this season. Toledo Speedway announced the 2025 season will start April 19th with the Twin 100’s, headlined by a first-of-its-kind doubleheader that will set the tone for an action-packed season. The historic half-mile oval will roar to life with the prestigious Hemelgarn / SuperFitness USAC Silver Crown Rollie Beale Classic 100-lap race alongside the close quarters CRA JEGS All Star Tour 100-lap event, promising an unforgettable day of racing excitement.
