
The Wayne Trace Lady Raiders saw their season come to a close Thursday night in the Division VI Girls District Tournament as the red, white and blue fell to Columbus Grove 50-17.
Columbus Grove led at every stop in the contest, limiting the Lady Raiders to just two points in the opening stanza as the Lady Bulldogs took control with a 22-2 advantage after one quarter.
Lauryn Auchmuty paced the way for the Putnam County squad with 18 points, five rebounds, seven steals and three assists while Nicole Nesby chipped in ten markers, eight rebounds and two assists.
Ruth Myers posted seven points for Columbus Grove, which improved to 22-2 overall on the season.
Aubrey Schroeder added five markers, five rebounds and three steals with Kendal Palte recording four points and three steals. Allison Thompson also had four points for the Lady Bulldogs to go along with four markers, three boards and two steals with Elyse Fortman picking up two points and two rebounds.
Concluding their careers in a red, white and blue uniform were the senior trio of Tianna Sinn, Harper Myers and Kathleen Stoller. Sinn connected on a three-point field goal while adding four rebounds and a steal and Myers finished her career two baskets, nine boards and one steal.
Lexi Moore also totaled a quartet of points for Wayne Trace, all coming from the free throw line, while hauling down nine boards and totaling two steals. Amber Stoller picked up three points and two rebounds for the Lady Raiders, who concluded the season with a record of 18-5 overall.
Careen Winans also hit a three-point field goal for Wayne Trace and totaled five steals with twin sister Caroline Winans adding a trio of steals.
