First Church of Christ, Hicksville, Ohio, is excited to welcome new Lead Pastor Eric Bass.
Eric has been involved in ministry since his college days, volunteering with churches in southern California, central Minnesota, and – for a short stint – Santiago, Dominican Republic. Ordained in 1997, Eric served as the worship pastor of Cedar Creek Church of Christ, Fort Wayne, Indiana, until 2018, when he transitioned to an executive role with the Indiana Department of Transportation, Fort Wayne District. He returns now to full-time vocational ministry and is excited to serve the community of Hicksville and the surrounding region.
Eric and his wife Jenny make their home in Harlan, Indiana, with their four children, Eric’s mother and brother, and two very cute Cavapoos. Because his two older children are students at Purdue University, Eric and his wife’s sports loyalties are firmly entrenched in Indiana. However, they bring great admiration and respect for The Ohio State – and yes, Michigan – fans out there, and look forward to many happy opportunities to root for their teams in good-natured competition. Eric is a lifelong musician, student, and certified nerd, whose degree in theology and preaching comes from Johnson University, Knoxville, Tennessee.
