
In sectional semifinal basketball action at South Adams High School, the Woodlan Warriors advanced to the championship game with a 44-43 victory over Adams Central Friday evening.
Trey Yoder led the way for Woodlan with twenty points in the contest and finished off a double-double with eleven rebounds on the night. Yoder also had a pair of assists for the Warriors.
Oliver Adams chipped in ten markers for the Allen County squad to go along with six boards and Drew Fleek recorded nine points, seven rebounds and two assists.
Mason Moore picked up the remaining five points and added nine boards and three assists.
Adams Central was on top the first three quarters as the Flying Jets took an 11-5 advantage at the end of one period before posting an 18-15 lead at the midway point of the contest.
At the end of three quarters, Adams Central still held a slim 27-25 margin over the Warriors before Woodlan responded in the final stanza.
The Warriors bucketed 19 points in the final eight minutes of action while limiting the Flying Jets to 16 as Woodlan rallied for the one-point victory.
Trace Maller topped Adams Central with 15 points in the contest and Braylend Reber also reached double digits with ten points.
Cade Van de Weg chipped in eight markers for the Flying Jets followed by Mavrich Becher (six), Drew Johnson (two) and Marcus Bollenbacher (two).

Warriors moved onto the Sectional championshiop game on Saturday night, and ended their season against Bishop Luers: 47-73. Great Season Warriors!
