In honor of National Ag Day which was March 19th, the Paulding FFA held their annual Tractor Drive-in Day and Parade to celebrate on Friday, March 21st. We had 18 members drive their tractors to school including Johnny Lipps, Anna Clemens, Makenna Dunham, Jalyn Klopfenstein, Nick Hatcher, Grady Barton, Mariah Klopfenstein, Mackenzie Leatherman, Kayleigh Dunham, Owen Workman, RJ Wirts, Blake Trausch, Ava Leatherman, Aly White, Delaney Johanns, Jackson Gunderman, Max and Kalan Burns, and Remington Boroff.
The Paulding FFA members and the students who drove tractors showed the elementary students their tractors and allowed them to climb up in the tractors and explore them. This year we had a contest for the elementary students to vote on their favorite tractor as the people’s choice award. We also had a pair of judges go around and judge the tractors and award certificates in six categories. The categories were the Biggest, Newest, Oldest, Cleanest, Dirtiest, and Smallest. Jalyn Klopfenstein won the biggest/people’s choice, Makenna Dunham won the newest, Ava Leathermen won the oldest, Mariah Klopfenstein won the cleanest, Blake Trausch won the smallest, and Johnny Lipps won the dirtiest.
A huge shout out to the following local agricultural businesses that donated items for the winners Beck’s Hybrids, Mercer Landmark, Rellim Drainage Technology. Redline Equipment, Truland Equipment and Scott Equity Exchange. We are so thankful for our community support. The chapter also held their 1st annual tractor parade for the students and staff to watch .The tractors drove down Emerald road to the elementary parking lot where the buses park and back to the ag shop. The Paulding FFA would like to thank its members for participating in Tractor Drive-in Day, and for making the event special for our students. We plan to make the parade a yearly event for our members.
