William Emerson Parrett

William Emerson Parrett, 88, of Antwerp, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Paulding County Hospital.

Bill was born in Antwerp on February 5, 1937, a son of the late Olive Alta (Caulkins) and William Frank Parrett.

He served a short time in the Ohio National Guard before entering The Ohio State University where he graduated with a degree in education. He later went on to receive his Masters degree. Bill spent his life doing many things. He was a farmer, an industrial arts teacher at Payne, a high school principal at Antwerp, Paulding and Twin Valley South High Schools. Bill worked at Fort Wayne Leasing and was the business manager at Ohio Valley School District. He served as superintendent at Martin’s Ferry School and Franklin Local Schools where he stayed until retirement. Bill thoroughly enjoyed life. He and Carol traveled to all of our 50 states and Canada. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding snowmobiles. Bill was a  stern, proud man who put his faith and family first.

Bill will be sadly missed by his wife, Carol (Patterson); children, Lynne Parrett, Susan (Dan) Arend, Will Parrett II and David (Jodi) Parrett; grandchildren, Charlie (Kirsten) Jones, Ethan (MacKenzee) Parrett, Nick (Cassie Jo) Arend, Chris (Gisele) Arend, Matt Arend, Kaelyn (Adam) Miller, Olivia Parrett, Jennifer (Dan) Neill and Ashley (Jahn) Price and great grandchildren, Talia, Myles, Addison, Kiersten, Jimmy, Raylan, Jamie, Psalm, Isaiah, Alenah, Kyler, Katherine, Adrienne, Alayna, McKenna, Emily and Cheyenne.

He was also preceded in death by his grandchildren, Carol Sue Parrett II and Stephen Jones and great grandson, Mycah Jones.

Viewing was Thursday, April 3rd, 12:30 pm – 2 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.

Bill’s funeral service was 2 PM on Thursday, April 3rd at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp .

He will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery, Crane Township. Memorials are to Bethel United Methodist Church. Fond memories may be shared at dooleyfuneralhome.com
